In 2019, at the age of 23, I surrendered my life to Jesus Christ after the heartbreak of a six-year relationship. I was overwhelmed with hopelessness, resentment, and sorrow—longing to be free from the pain of a love awakened before its time. Tired and broken, I cried out to the only one I believed could help me: the Creator, Almighty God. I asked Him for three things:
1) To come into my life and change everything that needed to be changed. In my heart, I knew this was the only way to be free from heartbreak.
2) A wife.
At the time, that was my closest understanding of what real love looked like—I needed love.
3) A church community.
I knew my friends couldn’t help me the way I truly needed.The
First Answered Prayer: Transformation
That very night, without fully realizing it, God came into my life. He began leading me on a journey of radical transformation—one filled with restoration, salvation, miracles, and beautiful encounters that assured me He was behind it all.
The Second Answered Prayer: Community
Just 11 days later, I received a message on Instagram from Ashley Flores—my ex-girlfriend’s friend. She invited me to church:“Hey man, I would love it if you came to church this Friday with my boyfriend and me… I know it’s been hard and I just feel like you should be in the presence of God.”
That message still brings me to tears. She had no idea how many lives would be changed by that simple invitation, starting with mine. That Friday, I walked into King of the Nations Church in Rockville, Maryland, and encountered the Holy Spirit through a group of passionate young adults. I’ve remained in that community ever since—and it’s where I truly met the Holy Spirit, which led me to Jesus, and ultimately to the Father.
Thank you, Lord.
The Third Answered Prayer: A Wife
After my baptism on June 30, 2019, I began praying more specifically for a wife. God spoke clearly to my heart:“She’s on the way.”
On July 14, 2019, I started talking to a beautiful, Houston-raised Latina named Genesis Guevara. Our love story spans three years of long-distance relationship, growing together in the Lord, until we were finally married on September 2, 2022—by the same pastor who baptized me.
Why I Serve Jesus:
When I first cried out to God, I wasn’t thinking about the trauma of being molested as a child, or all the things I had done wrong. I just wanted relief. But instead, I received eternal life.He set me free from the grip of death.
He gave me love, healing, purpose—and everything I didn’t know I needed.
This is the God I now serve.

Jesus is the source and strength of my life - worthy of all my heart, soul, mind, and strength. He is like an older brother that I always aspire to be like, while also being my King and the one who has shown the most beautiful love this world has ever seen.
Fun fact: I have a passion for cooking as well as soccer, I grew up playing competitively for 8 years. My biggest passion is to use media to spread the good news of Jesus that changed my life.
